My fill of Apples…

Everyone’s been talking about the Apple Mac Mini these days, so I thought I’d see what the fuss is all about. So off I went on my bike to Panjim to the only Apple store in Goa…

Its a small but classy place. Couple of Macs here and there. So I asked for the prices of them systems. Must say I liked the G5 20 inch system, but 1.10 lac is a bit too much for me. The 17inch model (Rs.78k) seemed to be the best buy around. Good speed, nice looks and plus its 64bit!

I asked if they had a Mac Mini when they pointed out to a small little box. Damn that thing is small! I think Apple should advertise it properly. Maybe give some comparative sizes like photographing it next to a cell phone or something. And Panther, they still haven’t got Tiger, works amazingly well on it! No problems at all. I opened various softwares and it took them all.

Then I have a look at the iPod. Again, damn, that thing is small!! Its so small that at first I thought it was the iPod Mini. I always thought the iPod was the size of a Hard Disk Drive…. And then I take a look at the iPod mini. Again, Damn….!! I don’t need to say anything about the Shuffle…

One more thing. Who said you can’t install pirated software on Macs? That was one of the main reasons, other than the cost, that I used to stay away from the beautiful thing. The dudes said that they would supply me with all the necessary software free of cost and could also provide licenced software if I wanted. So there was MS Office for Mac, Adobe stuff, Macromedia stuff, and everything that I could possibly want.

I am seriously contemplating whether my next computer will be a PC or Mac, its worth the extra cost.
