Ashoka Making Waves!!

Some of you may not be aware of the Indiagames Ashoka Project. Indiagames have joined hands with the Shortfuze (UK) to develop India’s first fully 3D game code-named Ashoka. The Ashoka game, that blends the exotic Indian content with well established Western game play, was initially started on February 19th 2004. :think:
That was the good news !

Now the bad news is that Ashoka’s Downloadable Game Trailer which they have released, has got something nasty. The famous Indian Goddess Kali has been depicted as an evil villainous character. The members of thinkdigit forum have created a lot of hype over this and I guess some others forums are opposing it too. :tdown:

So, I emailed Mr.Hrishi Oberoi (Head of 3D and Console Department, Indiagames Ltd.) and requested him to back off from this cultural blunder.

He promptly sent his earnest reply. :tup:

I understand your concern and we have been approached about this before as well. Rest assured, the storyline of the game will explain everything and will portray Kali in the light she is to be portrayed. We are doing extensive research on Indian mythology and we will not be making a game such as this without such insight. I know our trailer seems a little vague right now, but please wait for our next trailer and the game to be released to see how the story plays
out…. I assure you, you will not be disappointed!

I don’t know much about Emperor Ashoka’s history and even found no traces for that on the Internet. So for now we have to believe Mr. Hrishi Oberoi. :shh:
