iTrip : An iPod Must-Have

itrip

If you own an iPod, then this is one of the best accessories you can get for it. Griffin’s iTrip is a short range FM broadcast device, which broadcasts your iPod’s playing Audio on an FM frequency (87.9 MHz by default), so that you can use FM compatible devices nearby to listen to your iPod. This comes in handy in situations like a long car drive.

The iTrip comes in two variants - iTrip and iTrip Mini, the latter made according to the iPod Mini’s dimensions, although both are functionally the same. Both have a range of about 20 feet, and provide superb quality music, but remember to keep the iPod’s volume above 50% or else the iTrip will shut down automatically. The device fits on top of the iPod into the headphone jack. The iTrip draws it’s power from the iPod itself, and the battery drain in negligible. Simply put, this in an awesome device, and if you’re planning on accessorizing your iPod, then this is one of the first accessories you should buy.

I can’t think of a need for this FM Transmitter, I mean what’s the whole use of broadcasting music from your iPod & then listening via an FM Receiver!! ;)

Only good use of it I can think of at the moment is when you are on a picnic with school or college mates & they are listening to FM, you can give them a taste of your music!! ;)

On the other hand, I like it a lot. It allows me to enjoy my iPod contents in any room of the house, the car, and also the last point you mentioned there.

as if carrying the iPod with ear-buds/headphones on is a trouble!! ;)

on the contrary, I prefer to use headphones as much as I can since that gives me a better sound experience!! :D
