The New iPod … Dissapoints !

To me, the new iPod is not the video iPod I was looking forward to, but an iPod Photo that can play video as well. The good part is that prices do not escalate meteorically, but the bad part is that there’s not that much new about the new iPod. Combined with iPodLinux, any iPod photo had the ability to play video (without the audio), and the audio feature was expected soon. So, this is an evolutionary, not revolutionary iPod.
The iPod now comes in 30 GB and 60 GB for $299 and $399 respectively. Battery life has been boosted up to 20 hours, and you can now buy video content from the Apple Music Store using the new iTunes 6. So, Apple have revamped the iPod line completely over the last few months in an attempt to bring in more buyers. Although I had expected better from this video compatible iPod, I’d wait and see if and when the price drops, and then, I’ll consider a buy. For now, my iPod mini will more than suffice.
One more thing, the iPod is now available in black as well.
