Wi-Fi Router: Netgear WGR614
I recently shopped around for a few new things, and top of the list was a Wi-Fi router, and I found one that gives me all I could ask of it, and for the excellent price of Rs. 2300 only ! The Netgear WGR614 cost me only Rs. 2300 from Nehru Place, Delhi and comes with One Year Warranty. The router has the following features:
- Speeds of 802.11g and Four-Port 10/100 Eithernet Switch
- Double Firewall - SPI & NAT
- Smart Wizardâ„¢ automatically detects ISP settings and walks you through installation
- Compatible with 802.11b devices and 802.11g devices
- Shares broadband Internet access to every PC in your home
- Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK)
- Up to 128-bit WEP encryption
- VPN pass-through support
- MAC address authentication
I was up and running within seconds on my Airtel connection, and I had to configure nothing manually. The range is simply awesome. The indoor range is of 25 meters (with walls), and open range of 50 meters (no walls). I even managed to have it working on two storeys of the house, which mostly requires two access points. If you’re looking for an affordable Wi-Fi router with all the features for home use, then this one comes top of the list.

Hello Abhinav - I am planning to buy the NG614 too. I use airtel too with a linux desktop
How do you have the connection setup? Do I need to reconfigure the ADSL modem for anything? How should I connect the ADSL modem to the NG614?
