Airtel launch Music@Ease
Airtel has just launched Music@ease, an online music store for it’s broadband subscribers. The service is powered by Soundbuzz, whose own site is very similar to the interfact Airtel make use of. The selection of music is better at Soundbuzz, but Airtel’s version can get you better prices, especially if you’re buying Hindi music, but the selection is not that good.
I’m into English music more than Hindi, so I did’nt enjoy it much. Tata’s online music store, which I’ve already ranted about is much better for international music.

There’s only one problem with these online music stores, they use the WMA file formats with DRM which won’t let you use the music file on any music player that doesn’t support DRM & won’t let you play on any other PC except the one on which you downloaded!! In order to protect piracy, they are making paying customers suffer!! If I bought a music, I should have the freedom of listening to it where-ever I want. So if I downloaded on home PC & want to take it to my office to listen, I won’t be able to!!
Instead of this, buying a CD would be pretty much cool since I can play my music where-ever I want & convert it to any format to store on my PC or music player!!
