Sober Worm is Ethical!!

Are worms, that infect your PCs, bad?

Surely you’ll be thinking what kind of question is that, ofcourse they are bad as they take over the control of your PC and do bad bad things!! But do you think that you’ve got the right measure of it? What if you are to be told that Sober worm forced a child porn offender into confession? Yes, its true, as reported on PCPro. :eyebrow:

The 20 year old german child porn offender apparently chickened out and gave himself over to police after he got an email sent by Sober worm that his online activities are being tracked!! A search of his computer has given police several child porn images and evidence that such pictures have been emailed as well. A number of Sober variants were unleashed in late November this year which sent out fake emails purporting to be from FBI, UK’s NHTCU(National Hi-Tech Crime Unit) and German authorities claiming that the recepient’s online activities have been tracked to illegal websites and the ones in german went on as far to claim that preliminary investigations have already been started.

So, if the fact that they’ve spammed & scared innocent people is put aside, they’ve proved to be useful!! Or it can be said that apparently the german man in question was stupid enough to fall for it!! :think:
