Microsoft patches early!!
Microsoft delivered a Windows patch earlier than expected, for a vulnerability(WMF flaw) that has been hounding the users for the past 10 days & have had hackers gloating at the gullible, reported Washington Post.
The patch was expected to be released next week along with other regular security updates, but was instead released yesterday. Director of Microsoft’s Security Response Center, Debby Fry Wilson, said:
The company decided to release the patch early in part because it had finished testing it sooner than expected, but also in response to very strong feedback from customers who wanted to have the update early. We decided the right thing to do was to put it out today.
This security flaw’s issue took a bit if unexpected turn when some security experts recommended a third party(unofficial) patch for windows rather than wait for Microsoft’s official patch, after criticising Microsoft a lot for its take on the severity of the vulnerability. It seems that its become a fashion to criticise Microsoft for one thing or another & no person can even be called a security expert unless he/she has criticised Microsoft at least a thousand times!! I’d like to see these so called security experts make an operating system(or an application of similar magnitude) with no security issues!!
Even the so called Linux & Unix aren’t void of security vulnerabilities!!
