That $0.99 sale!!
What can $0.99 buy for you? Apparently not much, but you can buy a song legally on the much famous iTunes online music store. But can that go farther than there? For some, yes, it might!!
Alex Ostrovsky, a 16 year old from Michigan, USA, is one such person who got a lot lot more than the worth of his 99 cents. He purchased “Speed of Sound” song from Coldplay’s “X&Y” album from the iTunes Music Store & while doing so, he downloaded the 1 billionth song from the three year old iTunes Music Store, and the heavens opened their gates to that kid. He was showered with prizes from Apple Computer Inc. which included a 20 inch iMac, 10 5th generation iPods and a $10000 iTunes Gift Certificate!!
Now that’s what I call getting the most out of your spent buck!! :bingo: And if that’s not enough, Apple also said that they’ll also establish a scholarship to Juilliard School of Music in his name!!
Obviously a bit too much on marketing tactics by Apple, but it must’ve come out as a pleasant shock to that kid since he got more than what he bargained for!! :applause: No wonder he’ll remember this day all his life!!
