Lets all kill Microsoft!!

When it comes to playing down and dirty, one can’t be sure that the other won’t be having dirtier tricks in their bags!! But perhaps Google thought otherwise!! It seems that everything around the web is poisoned with a dash or more of hypocrisy, the “do no evil” company is also not immune to it!!

It was alright when Google started distributing a package of basic softwares like an anti-virus, an adware/spyware removal tool, a browser(FireFox) loaded with a Google toolbar and some other softwares of Google’s choice. It was also alright when Google, leveraging its search dominance, started promoting FireFox on its homepage(something that’s not done for any other product/service) with the intention of getting back at Microsoft. It was still alright when they started paying AdSense publishers for making users to download & install FireFox with Google Toolbar, a rather cheesy attempt to promote FireFox. But it certainly is not alright(as per Google) if Microsoft sets the default search engine to MSN in the upcoming update to its browser, Internet Explorer 7!! Is it Microsoft’s fault that they produce the most popular & widely used desktop operating system in the world? Should they apologise for that? :eyebrow:

A sane person would get sick of all these lowlifes crying foul when there’s none & preaching others to do something which they themselves don’t do. “Leveraging their market share unfairly”, “unfair competition”, hell yeah, its good as long as you are doing it, but when you are at the receiving end, you start having problems(read nightmares). Its not surprising after all, that’s the way its been for years. You push your choices in your users’ faces, leveraging your popularity & market dominance, and its alright with “fair-competition” then, but as soon as someone more dominant & popular than you starts doing it, it becomes “unfair competition”!! C’mon, grow up!! One doesn’t become a market leader to promote their competition. Every company out there for profit aims to achieve monopoly in their field, irrespective of the fact whether they do achieve it or not.

Its all about defacing the most popular, since no one takes notice of tiny weeny players, however evil their practices might be. Ever heard of a computer company called Apple? Their operating system runs on their own hardware, so isn’t that unfair competition(or rather, no competition at all)? But did anyone call them guilty of monopolistic practices? Nah, since why would anyone want to bother with small fries like that who are sitting tight with their little piece of the pie when there are monoliths like Microsoft to take potshots at!! However insecure other operating systems be, with unpatched vulnerabilities, Microsoft is still the devil of the world!!

Google is the apple of every geek’s eye for it gives out free candies(services/tools) while Microsoft is a sour grape, the enemy of the entire human race and a person can’t qualify to be called a tech geek unless and until he/she has flamed Microsoft a zillion times!!! So lets all kill Microsoft, so that the position of the “Lord of the Evil” becomes vacant again & someone else can occupy it again only to be dethroned, and the process will continue till the day no human survives!!
